Don’t miss out on Sault Ste. Marie’s 8th Annual Science Festival! Through hands-on activities for all ages, the festival will engage a wide range of public audiences while inspiring future generations. The Sault Ste. Marie Science Festival features both the natural and applied sciences and technology happening in the Sault.
The festival seeks to:
- Engage conventional and non-conventional audiences, while providing fun, hands-on experiences
- Engage teachers, providing motivation for professional development in science and/or technology
- Highlight real world issues and current science/global issues
- Create community pride through better understanding of Sault Ste. Marie science initiatives
Additionally, as part of the Sault Ste. Marie Science Festival, the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC)
and YouLaunch, our Youth Entrepreneurship division, will be hosting ARTIE (Advanced
Research & Technology Innovation Expo) on Thursday, JUNE 16, 2022. In the past, ARTIE
has physically brought together approximately 1000 elementary school students for one day,
to gain hands-on experience from local exhibitors in the science and technology sector.
This year, we hope to continue to be able to inspire students to explore further education in
STEM programming by offering the event virtually with the opportunity to provide a tangible
activity for students or classrooms to do on their own time.
